Under a Banyan Tree

During a recent day of substitute teaching I had the opportunity of taking two high school classes to a couple of sessions of yoga.  During these sessions the teacher took the students through some beginning rudimentary yoga movements and a brief meditation session.  I learned that young people these days don’t seem to be very limber – most could not touch their toes – but also that they seem to innately know that they should develop this type of movement because they enjoyed it immensely.  They also enjoyed the calming meditation sessions.  I of course, went through the lesson’s the teacher taught twice.  It was nice to see that at 63 I am more nimble then many teenagers but my reason for this particular blog was the meditation sessions.  The teacher introduced a cd, “Ultmate OM” by Jonathan Goldman.  He is an international authority on sound healing and a pioneer in the field of harmonics. He has worked with masters of sound from both the scientific and the spiritual traditions and has been empowered by the Chant Master of the Dalai Lama’s Drepung Loseling Monastery to teach Tibetan Overtone Chanting.  “OM” is considered by many to be the original sound of the universe and this cd has a thousand voices chanting “OM” for an extended period of time.  This brought me back to one of my original precepts mentioned in “Meandering Thoughts” and “Life is a Journey” – Every object and being in the universe has energy which resonates at a variety of frequencies.  The total sum of all these frequencies is God.  Learn to listen to that inner voice and discover the route that connects you to God and God to you.  In doing so you will also connect with other beings and things in your own realm as you will become more adept at tuning yourself to their frequencies and learning what they bring to overall universal consciousness.

I took my own philosophy to heart and looked for the frequency inside myself that connected me to universal consciousness.  This has had a profound effect on my ability to locate my inner voice more quickly.  Up until this moment I had had difficulty in securing this connection in a timely fashion.  It was as if there was static on the line or that my inner voice was speaking through a profound fog.  Time and supreme concentration were required to establish a truly viable interface.  But discovering my own resonance or frequency and using it to contact my inner voice proved much easier.  This freqency is unique to all beings and objects and is your interface to your inner voice and to universal consciousness – God.  I recommend that you download the “Ultimate OM” cd and use it in meditation.  It just may help you discover your own resonance and connection to everything in the universe including God.  Remember, every object and being in the universe has energy which resonates at a variety of frequencies.  The sum total of all these frequencies is God.  He is within you and you are within him.  Universal Consciousness wants to be discovered and used.  As the universe discovers itself, we all learn.  As we discover ourselves, the universe becomes more conscious.
